derives its name from the fact that the property is located on an authentic
elephant corridor between the Minneriya National Park and the Sigiriya National
Park, which is used as an access route by these majestic animals as they travel
from one park to the next. It is an extremely high end boutique property from
which the spectacular rock face of Sigiriya can be seen and elephants are known
to venture as close as the property’s lobby. The drive from the airport will
take approximately three to four hours.
Elephant Corridor is
an eco friendly resort which is carefully spread out over an extensive acreage,
with minimum damage to the natural setting. The resort’s rooms and public areas
are sporadically placed giving a feel of it being a little village unto itself,
and if you find walking long distances tiring there are bicycles and electro
cars. It is a profoundly environmental resort, with many birds, butterflies and
animals calling the hotel gardens home. As you meander along its verdant paths
the quiet call of morning birds or the evening chirp of a million crickets will
soothe even the weariest of souls.
The 21 suites at
Elephant Corridor are scattered all over the grounds and feature every modern
