Governor's camp is
situated on the South coast of Sri Lanka, just 400 metres from the Indian
Ocean. This unique opportunity to live within nature, in a secure and
comfortable environment is perfect for those seeking a luxury camping
experience. Governor's camp lies within a 7 acre haven, only 12km from the Yala
encourages large groups of friends and family to enjoy the jungle experience
without having to sacrifice basic necessities. In a safe space, you can enjoy
the sounds from a of myriad birds in the mornings and listen to the creeping
nocturnal animals at night. After a quick drive to Yala National Park, you can
witness amazing wildlife, such as the Sri Lankan Leopard -the park is in fact
recognised as one of the best places to see leopards in the world.
Birdwatching, fishing in the nearby sea and lake are also possibilities for
those wishing to expand on their activities.
Governor's Camp has
10 single beds in the cadjan pavilion and one double bed. Additionally there
are 20 canvas camp beds available upon request and a tent which sleeps 8
people. There are 20 mosquito nets and 30 pillows available.
There are 16, 000 liters of water on site for general use,
two twin showers and three toilets. 570 litres of drinking water is also
available on site as well as hot water from the tap. There are 2 solar fans, a
solar lighting system and TV. There is mobile phone reception for those using
Dialog, Tigo or Mobitel. A full time cook and cleaner are always on site, a
kitchen with a gas stove and BBQ.
