Since opening its doors, Aditya has become enormously popular among visitors to Sri Lanka- a fact that can be attested to. Enjoying a prime location between the riotous beach side town of Hikkaduwa and the culturally rich city of Galle, Aditya is a retreat where absolute sanctuary can be obtained. But most of all, Aditya has both keen prices as well the ultimate in terms of luxury.Drive times to Colombo will be around three hours.

Aditya prides itself on the opportunities to give guests the freedom to do what they want. Meals are served as per your request so even if you wake up at noon (which you should, as you are on holiday) you can still have breakfast. There are only 12 suites on offer, so the ambience is relaxed and intimate and the service- personal. The décor is eclectic and not singular to one theme, though ethnic influences can definitely be felt. However, though deriving inspiration from several different sources, the interiors at Aditya remain unpretentious, effortless and abound with charm.

The 12 suites are named after the sun gods of Hinduism, Sagara, Shanthi and Surya. Each of these differ in terms of layout and design with carefully chosen pieces of art and colour schemes. All of the suites feature LCD TV screens and DVD/CD players, spacious en suite bathrooms with twin vanities and hot water, mini bar access and luxurious private plunge pools.Garden suites or Shanthi feature tranquil private verandahs that open out onto verdant private gardens while Ocean suites (Sagara) provides enticing views of the Indian Ocean and feature spacious private balconies. They also feature UV lighting on the ceiling, depicting a galaxy at night. The master suite is named Surya and exudes luxury and elegance. It is perhaps one of the finest master suites offered by boutique hotels in Sri Lanka. It is a two storey penthouse with the private living space occupying the lower floor while the upper floor features a sumptuously oversized bed. There is an expansive sun deck, open air plunge pool as well as a delightful rain style shower.

The restaurant serves delightful cuisine of both the Sri Lankan and international persuasion. The seafood is of note, particularly and preferences can be discussed with the chef who will gladly prepare something to please the palate. Meals can be taken at whatever time you wish, wherever you wish too, taking in the views at the restaurant, in the garden or more intimately in your suite. There is also an in-suite spa service that offers rejuvenating treatments. The bar has a selection of wines, and there is also a well equipped gym, yoga room and library. You can also choose to use the hotel’s mini moke to show yourself around town or take a small course in Sri Lankan cookery or mask making.

You can take a short drive to the city of Galle, which is rich in heritage and culture or visit the lively town of Hikkaduwa, where diving, snorkeling and night time reveling are popular. The nearby town of Ambalangoda is famed for its mask making. For a full list of activities in the south please visit our South Coast Destination profile.
